- May I go to
college if I attend LCTI?
Yes. With the help of guidance, career counseling, and careful course
selections, your options after high school may include both two and four-year
colleges and universities.
- Is it true
that you can still participate in sports, band, choral groups, or other
extra-curricular activities if you attend LCTI?
Yes. LCTI encourages students to participate in extra-curricular activities
and will do as much as possible to adjust schedules to help.
- Will I be able
to graduate from my high school if I go to LCTI?
Yes. While attending LCTI you will receive more than enough credits
to meet the graduation requirements of your high school.
- May special
needs students attend LCTI?
Yes. Students with special needs are evaluated for the correct lab placement.
A support staff member will assist students who need extra help in the
vocational labs.
- Can I go to
LCTI and still take college prep classes?
Yes. With careful planning you can take college prep classes while attending
LCTI. Some of our students use the skills they learn here to help with
college costs. Others are developing skills that will put them ahead
in their college classes.
- Is LCTI only
for students in 10th, 11th, and 12th grades?
Yes. To become eligible to attend LCTI, you must have successfully
completed 9th grade.
- Must I take
tests at LCTI?
Yes. As in the classroom, tests and quizzes will check your progress.
The theory behind the skills you'll learn is an important part of your
education. At LCTI, you learn why something works
not just how
it works.
- What if I just
don't know what I want to be?
Guidance and career counselors can help you discover your strengths
and interests and then help you set career goals.
- Does it cost
anything to go to LCTI?
No. Vocational education is supported by the sending school districts
so there is no tuition cost to the student. A lab may require some special
safety equipment and/or tools. Call (610)799-1358 for more information.
- May I get advanced
standing at local colleges if I attend LCTI?
Yes. LCTI has agreements with Lehigh Carbon Community College, Northampton
Community College, Penn College of Technology in Williamsport, and Penn
State University.
